NSCSO – Capita updates…

Further attacks on our rights at work…
Spring March Saturday 23rd March…
Back to a Friday update for GMB eNews.
The second part of this weeks tripartite meetings with CAPITA led to the release of the T’s and C’s matrix and examples of alternative employment from CAPITA. These are now open for a 30 day consultation so I would welcome feedback from members affected on what are your key areas of concern and key policies you do not wish to see changed. GMB’s position is still that any change other than for practical reasons e.g. a change in child care voucher supplier, is unnecessary and potential goes against the statutory guidelines for TUPE. We would welcome our input if you are part of the affected services and will keep you posted.
Going forward we have agreed t hold working groups on issues such as these and “on boarding” – key areas of concern from unions and members around the transfer.
The proposed Capita Terms and Conditions Matrix can be found here and the CAPITA examples of suitable alternative employment can be found here for those with intranet access. If you don’t have intranet access and wish to view these files please let me know and I will send them to you. I have not attached to the email so as not to clog other people’s inboxes up.
Today I visited members at Deansbrook Junior School who are moving to Academy status in April. This was part of a TUPE consultation with the school. Presently the changes from them will only be around the name of their employer. However if Michael Gove gets his way this school along with many other Academies could be put into the private sector.
